Have you ever noticed a Silver Key Reserve & Ride vehicle providing rides in our community? Our staff and volunteer drivers are busy Monday through Friday bringing older adults who are unable to drive to their medical appointments, grocery shopping, and to other activities, such as a shared noon meal at one of more than 20 Silver Key Connections Cafés.

When a senior reserves a ride with Silver Key, they know they can count on a courteous, trained driver that will safely assist them in getting to their destination, even if they need extra help. Our volunteers enjoy the strong connections they make with clients, and they find it rewarding and meaningful.

“I picked up a new client. She was so nervous. Her husband had passed six months earlier, and she had been living 100% inside her house. She had been eating food from her freezer, which was now empty. She did not drive. She called her doctor to cancel her appointment because she could not come and they told her about Silver Key. You may be interested to learn that we receive hundreds of ride requests each month that we are not able to fulfill and Silver Key is required to raise matching donations in order to receive funding for rides from some granting organizations.
